Could the application be modified to allow playlists to be stored by user. The user could then make the playlist global if they want to allow access by others.
Thanks,

GREAT Idea!!!

I would love to be able to allow users to modify their own playlists without risking unwanted changes to my own lists...

I have also requested this functionality before. It'd be a great addition.

This is the first time I installed Subsonic and it is a great media streaming server.
I think it is also a very good idea to add this functionality that users can only access their own playlist.
Now everybody who has permission to create and delete playlists can also change and see playlists from other users.
You have my vote for this

I too would like to see support for user specific playlists. My biggest concern with how it is now is that it is too easy to delete existing playlists by accident.
But I would like all saved playlists to be shared by default so others can see them and play them, but not delete them. And that when you save them you somehow can have an option to turn off sharing of the playlist. Or maybe make the sharing property go into a playlist managing page where you can chose which playlists that is shared, and maybe with whom.
In addition I would really really liked opening of playlists to work the same in the web gui as it doeas on the android application. E.g. That you get up the saved playlist in the main window in the web interface and that you there can do the same operations on the playlist as you can do in the track view of an album. E.g. You can either select, Play all, Queue all. Or you can click in each line of the playlist to Play a track, or add a track. That way you easely can build new playlists by cherry pick items from existing playlists. You already can do that on the Android app, so therefore it would be nice to have in the web gui too.

I agree with the sentiment here.
At least to restrict users from deleting each other playlists. Once more and more people join up with their lists.. it can get a little scary.
Private/public access to playlists is also excellent

Would love to see this feature as well - it gets hard for users to find their own playlists once they start using this functionality.

+1 I'd like to see this implemented too. With every user being able to set his playlists as private or public would be killer!
