Language settings for Linux version of Subsonic

Postby jrh.koenig » Fri Aug 27, 2010 2:42 am

Hi Sindre,

is it possible that you add LC setting to the start script for the linux version of subsonic? In the last time more and more people have problem that is no LC settings in your start script.
I know that en_US.UTF-8 supports german chars and should support french chars. I don't know if it support norwegian chars too. That have to tested.

Kind Regards

Non ascii characters

A "fix" has been posted for handling of non-ascii characters in song names - it works for me too:

It describes the problem well.

A general fix for Subsonic would be good.

Hurrah and thanks for the pointer to Kevin's posting -- I was concerned that I was going to have to manually rename all my classical files with French and German accents to get them recognized, and this fixed my problem with 30 seconds editing in nano.

UPDATE: If you applied in 4.0, you need to reapply the fix after upgrading to 4.1.
