Gapless Audio

Hello All,

Some of my music has tracks where there is no gap between 2 songs (or more) and I am sure you all have similar audio in your collection.

Would it be possible for a 'tag' to be added by a track to mark it as gapless, then Subsnic could preload the next track and remove any 'gap'

Thanks,
Alan.

Agreed.

Not so much with the implementation (ie Tagging each individual track as gapless), but if tracks were buffered correctly, would play proceed 'tightly' with the next track and sound gapless.

Gapless playback is an essential part of any good media player. Mixed albums (a lot of dance music for example) requires gapless playback to hear the continuous mix of music.

Hey Tomos, thank you for the reply.

How does a medi player know a track is supposed to be gapless? There must be a marker on the CD somewhere that tells a player not to insert the requisite 2 second gap.

Alan.
