Cache playlists on the phone (Android)

I use Subsonic exclusively on my Android phone. I also listen to M3U playlists most of the time. If I ever use offline mode, I can't access my playlists. If I'm stuck on an Edge connection (2G) it can take a considerably long time to download the list of all of my playlists, and even longer to download individual playlists. (I have one playlist that is over 1300 songs, for instance.)

I think it would be great if the playlists were cached on my SD card. They don't change very often. Even if they do change, the server can hash the playlist, and so can the Android client, and if the playlist has changed, download a new copy of it. Newly added or deleted playlists on the server can also be tracked and those changes can be kept in sync with the client.
