Open Source the Android Client

I'd like to see the Android client open-sourced. There are a lot of issues with the client, a lot of feature requests, and the app is currently free in the market so it's not like the developer would be losing money. Seems like a logical move.

Cool, I didn't realize. Tried searching on subsonic.org and google, but didn't seem to find it. Thanks!

Nice! I had no idea. Can other developers submit patches for review and inclusion, or is it just "open" in the sense that the source code is on a public server?

I opened a ticket on sourceforge for a bug a while ago and attached a patch to the ticket. Got a response and a big thanks from sindre and the bug was fixed in the next major Android revision of Subsonic. So I guess it's open enough for patches to be accepted (and appreciated!).

This is a really old thread, but is the first Google result for "Subsonic Source"

I tried to import the project into Eclipse and ran into a problem that I found a solution for.

If you see "must override a superclass method" errors, see this solution:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1678122/must-override-a-superclass-method-errors-after-importing-a-project-into-eclipse.

Basically you need to set your Java compiler to 1.6 in the preferences.
