Could you dump the album art jpg into the album's cached directory on the sd card? Then you could have album art while offline AND other apps accessing the cached music will also have art (such as the stock music player).

Thanks so much for doing this! There's one issue though - subsonic writes "folder.jpeg" to the SD card and other apps, like the stock media player, are looking for "folder.jpg". Could you save the album art on the SD card as "folder.jpg" instead?
