Search Results Expanded

Search results seem to be limited to 25 items in each category of ALBUM, ARTIST, SONG after pressing the "More". Having around 200 albums that begin with "Bach: " or "Beethoven: " it becomes hard to find or browse albums from search results. Can a "More" link be added after each group of 25, or an expanded, full list be displayed (and thus use the scroll bar in the frame as needed)?

Seconded

So much of Subsonic is top notch that the little niggles are so much more frustrating. I've tried to be meticulous about my categorization so I always know how to find what I want, but I've hit the search limit a few times as well searching through my classical stuff.

I so badly want to use Subsonic as a complete iTunes replacement and Subsonic does come very close to being able to do that, a testament to the amount of work, thought and talent that went into designing it. The immediate obstacles allowing me to do that with a big musical library (70k 'songs') is the search and browsing features - especially when classical music by prolific composers is involved. I too have to be meticulous and consistant in tagging due to the sheer volume of files involved.

+1 on this.

It was especially frustrating when initially trying to learn how to use the search function, given that there was no indication that the display of search results was limited to 25 matches/category. I assumed I was doing something wrong in specifying the search.

Unfortunately, the issue is more than just a matter of file tagging and folder organization. I have MANY examples in my collection

2,662 artists
3,691 albums
68,060 songs
444.83 GB (~ 6,910 hours)

where there are more than 25 different recordings of of the same piece. For example, I have 57 different versions of Chopin's Barcarolle. No amount of clever folder re-organization or file re-tagging is going to come up with a way for me to view all my options for this piece.

As noted above, it is a shame as, otherwise, subsonic has been perfect for me. Glad I finally found your post, as I have been doing multiple searches in the forum to determine whether this 25 max is in fact a HARD limit.

Another user that would like to see the search limit either removed or allowed to be user configured to be greater than 25. I'm honestly surprised that more people haven't run into this issue.

All of my mp3s are tagged and already organized. Sometimes I'll want to setup a playlist based on an artist or composer of which I have more than 25 songs. I don't know exactly what songs I want in that playlist until I visually see them, though. Having only 25 results sort of limits my capability to do this.

Hopefully this can be implemented in a future release!

Bump!

There MUST be a way to add more results.
2TB of music and complete recordings of the Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Phish and others make the 25 limit seem miniscule. I have over 25 Darkstars in 1969 alone! C'Mon Subsonic!

Increase amount of search results

First, I love Subsonic so much I do not play music with any other player, even when I am at home on my home computer, I still login to play my music through Subsonic. I have one thing that I would love to see updated. The search limitation. I have a very large collection of music stored on a server, about 12TB. Sometimes when searching I hit the limitation of, I believe, 25 results. Is there any way to to expand further past these 25 results to get all results?

MOD: You are not the first to ask for this so I am moving this post to that thread.

Having an 'advanced search' feature has been requested tons of times. Since people create new threads instead of searching the forum, I feel forced to copy and paste the same reply in a handful of threads to reach people subscribing to the topic.

I've just added an 'advanced search' interface to my Subsonic mod, see viewtopic.php?f=4&t=9777&p=50566#p50566.

It allows for combining some twenty different criteria when searching for tracks, browsing all results, and adding all of them for playback. The mod is documented at http://dilerium.se/musiccabinet/.
