Pretty simple suggestion :

Add a "Search" checkbox next to "Enable" in the music folders settings.
Only enabled folder will be indexed.

Would be fine for :
For example i have hardlinks to favorite artists and they appear double. And next to the alphabetic sorting i have an genre sorting.

I'd like that, makes for much flexibility and it's probably easy to add. Only one question remains (2 actually): does it fit in with subsonic (yes^^) and does it make the interface too complicated?

I think it fits, is a good extension of the "activate/deactivate folder" feature. And it doesnt bloat the interface because its hidden in some setting tab.
