Spotify...

Well, I listen mostly to spotify these days. I actually use subsonic mostly because it works great with both desktop and mobile clients, with music that is not on Spotify. It is also of course cheaper, but that is not as important.

So I would love a "plugin" that supports Spotify. I realize this is not likely, seeing subsonic is not really built with this in mind, as far as I can tell any way.

My ideal music solution is for desktop, mobile and "jukebox" clients (remotely control any client) with a server that woks well. This sounds very much like Squeeze Server would do the job, and it _almost_ does. The thing it is lacking is, their spotify plugin requires features that most software players are lacking.

spotify is not really free
spotify is only software use
the plugin could be just for playlists not for music , you will still listen spotify on their software. Thats why subsonic exists !:)

I did not intend to imply it was, I pay (gladly) for premium, just as I donated for android access to subsonic.

The cheap part was a bit odd in my post, I mean basically that my girlfriend listens to subsonic etc but not so much spotify (and when she does, its using my account.), so she doesn't pay for premium.

Anyway, I don't see spotify being non-free a good reason to not want to have functionality for it.

spotify is only software use

So you can't listen spotify anywhere else except a spotify program.

The feature that could be interesting is to have playlists from spotify .
To play with spotify software , but its too specific .
What about DEEZER.COM ?

It could probably be done with the libspotify so your point not valid, thou it would need a massive amount of work for very little reason.
