cache movie info instead of running ffmpeg repeatedly

Postby aspitzer » Wed Jan 19, 2011 3:05 am

Subsonic is awesome!

I have an issue where it takes a really long time for the movies to show up when I click on my movie folder

I discovered that subsonic is running "ffmpeg -i /path/to/movie.avi" on every movie.
It does this at least every time I restart subsonic, and quite possibly more often.

Would it be possible to cache this data in the db, so if the name, size, modification date dont change, you dont have to rerun ffmpeg?

Thanks!

NOTE: I just upgraded to 4.4Beta1, so if this feature is there, then never mind!

and while you're at it, cache audio file data as well

subsonic takes ages to load large folders...
