Teaming Multiple SubSonic Server/Clustering

I, and a few of my friends all have our own Subsonic setups. most of us give each other accounts to each others systems to share a bit, as well a a small group of friends who don't run their own system.

It would be awesome if there was a feature to join/team/cluster our subsonic systems together. Some sort of service account would be created and handed out to my friends to use to "attach" to my system. After that, they would have their local indexes/libraries, AND would be able to browse/search mine as well, their Subsonic server would act as a client to mine. Any users on their system would have whatever rights the "Service" account has on my system, odds are mostly just streaming/downloading.

I don't think this sounds that bad...thoughts?

+1 i would love to see this, even tho i dont know anyone to team up with lol.

temp solution would be..

hamchi with your buddies, point ur subsonic to their shared folder [not sure if subsonic would accept UNC, but you could always map it]

Great idea!

This would be a killer feature. When you think about it, there are clients (iPhone, Android, etc) that can speak the API, so it should be possible to get the native web interface to speak this same API into other subsonic instances.

How difficult would this be to implement?
