Now playing tab showing when playback stops

I'd like to see the Now Playing tab reflect the current status of a users player. For example the user should only be visible there if its player is actually playing and not stopped. For paused status, there could be 5 minute timer before user vanishes from "now playing". The current situation with a 59 minute timer until a user vanishes from the tab is very misleading from a interface point of view and doesnt seem to make any sense at all.
Another scenario, when playing DJ mix sets or any files that are longer than 60 minutes, the user will vanish from the tab after 60 minutes although he is still playing that song.
