I would like to request that Subsonic have an option to set playlists to public, or private. Users should be able to specify if they want playlists to be public or private on a per-playlist option, and, even a User specific setting. For example, User "A" could go to their preferences and adjust settings for playlist.
Because it's an undertaking, I broke my request out into different milestones.
Milestone 1
Global settings
-Hide ALL my playlists from global view (unless individually set per playlist)
-Share ALL my playlists with Everyone, Read only.
-Share my playlists with everyone, read/write. (not recommend)
And, individually, users can set a per-playlist option.
By default, individual playlists would inherit the global settings, unless specifically set.
- Share *this* list with everyone, read-only
- Share *this* list with everyone, read-write.
- Hide *this* playlist from global view
Milestone 2
Milestone 2 could include additional features to allow users to define rules for other users, on a global basis, or on a per-playlist basis.
- Share *ALL my playlists* with John, read-write
- Share *ALL my Playlists* with Bob, read-only.
- Share *playlist 2* with Jerry, read-write; + Share *playlist 2* with Frank, read-only.
Milestone 3 could include exclusions
- Share my playlist with everyone except.
- Make my playlist read-write for everyone except Bob
- Make my playlist read-only for everyone, except Frank
