Thank you

yes, i would like to see some sort of scrobbling support outside of the server based when listening on android. i have simple last.fm scrobbler and it doesnt pick up the subsonic player

to add to this the reason i dont like the scrobbling built in while listening over android is the entry is marked as "scrobbled" when the track downloads to the device, not as it is listened to in the android player

last.fm scrobbling is going to be in the next android release if i'm not mistaken. It's already on the svn.

this looks great, ive been looking for the source, didnt know where to find it

I compiled it and installed it and the check box is indeed there, will have to dive into this a bit more to see how it all works. looks like im getting an I/O error when trying to play audio with the recent version of what i pulled from sourceforge

Since a REST method was added with Version 4.4 for scrobbling, I believe that the android app will just issue that command (if online) to the server so that the server can scrobble the tracks you play as you play them (instead of as you download them as was done in the past.)

What I am most interested to see is how scrobbling is handled when the app is in "offline" mode (ie, is it queued and submitted when possible, or discarded?) and also to see if perhaps the same REST method will be used to populate the "Now Playing" user list, so you can see what a mobile user is ACTUALLY listening too, not what they are currently downloading.

Looking forward to the next version,

Glenn
