Subsonic Forum

I don't see that this has been addressed as a separate issue, my apologies if it has....

I would love the ability to rename folders from the Subsonic interface. If it's possible, but it would be a useful feature. The ability to rename individual files would also be helpful. As my library has grown to over 150,000 songs, switching between Subsonic and Windows Explorer for file management is becoming more tedious and time-consuming.

It might be tedious to switch but Windows apps written in C/C++ or C# or .NET will probably be way faster than the java VM that SS is using. At least for mass disk operations. I'd like a little renaming too now and then, but most of the time I rename/tag a whole album and foobar or mp3tag are just too fast to make me switch to java for that.

Having said that, Im not sure how much the java VM has improved on the filesystem handling end, it might be a snap today, not sure about that.
