Install with x64 Encoders Option
Posted: Mon Mar 28, 2011 9:11 pmI replaced lame.exe and ffmpeg.exe with their respective 64bit [x64] counterparts and had a 16% speed increase and 22% speed increase (or decrease in encoding time) respectively.
For ffmpeg [atleast] it is cpu % and thread # locked so prior to this change I had video transcode stuttering (despite only 25% cpu use)
Other people might like this option in the installer (or a note somewhere pointing out the difference)
(I haven't tested any of the other encoders but they may also offer a performance increase)
FYI the server is running Win2k8 R2 [x64] with 1.67mhz dual core and 4gb ram
