Playlist URL/QueryString Parameters?

What I would like to accomplish is be able to tell the server to play a random number of songs from a particular folder all via the URL querystring such as:
http://www.domain.com:85/stream?player= ... p&songs=50
http://www.domain.com:85/stream?player=1&suffix=.mp3
