If file/folder/album names exceed a certain amount of characters a ... is added to the end and the rest of the name is cutoff. Could there be an options to show the entire name of the folder (or whatever it may be) no matter how long the name? Of course there are OS independent restrictions which cannot be bypassed, I'm not talking about those.

Another option could be to show the complete caption as hover text (mouseover effect).

A hover text effect to show the rest of the folder name is a great idea. Maybe it could include the cover art for that folder as well and other information.

I prefer the entire name, but why not just make the character limits variables (in list, main view and playlist, perhaps individual limits), with the full name displaying as alt-text in all cases.

ie, in my folder/album list I would set it to 0 for unlimited, and get the full name displaying,
but in my playlist I only want to see the first 65 characters, with the full title visible as alt-text when I hover as cartwright suggested.

People who typically view the control site on different resolutions would then be free to tailor it to what looks best for them.

Agreed. I'll implement something along the lines you suggest.
