Cache server songs and playlists on mobile devices

Caching songs and playlists locally (on my Smartphone), beyond what is in the device's playlist would greatly help for travelers who find themselves without an Internet connection.

Currently, if I browse the songs on my server and play one or two of them, replacing the local playlist, there's no way to re-access the prior downloaded music if I lose my Internet connection, even I set subsonic app to have a huge cache and unlimited downloads. This could be solved by:
  • keeping downloaded songs in the local device's cache even if they're not in the device's immediate playlist
  • keeping a local cache of the playlist

Or... another way to think about: I'd really like to use the mobile Subsonic apps as a way of syncing with my music collection, rather than just a streamer.
Let my locally download as much of my music as possible and access it offline.

Not sure if I understand the request fully.

But if you use the Android client, you can set the server to be 'Offline'. Then you can play tracks that is in the local cache, or the pinned tracks.

But its true that you do not have any playlist functionality. I too would had liked that the playlists was stored locally in addition to on the server.
