Jukebox

I know there is a jukebox mode, maybe I am misunderstanding that.

I have a MAME arcade machine that when not gaming, I log into my subsonic to just listen to music at parties and such. What I would like, is to be able to set up an account that would be strictly a jukebox, so that any of my guest can go up and browse through and just add to the playlist...... I know they can just hit the + but as soon as someone just hits the play, it deletes the playlist and just adds the song they pressed play for, also, would like it to be able not not add the full album, only one song at a time just like a traditional jukebox.....

There is a lot of jukebox software out there, in fact there are a lot that plug right into a MAME front end, but I would love to just use Subsonic in the same way .

Have you checked out party mode?
This may go some way to what you need

Yes that does work "Somewhat" to the extent I was after.

I guess I would also add, one of the jukebox programs I have used will delete the song from the playlist after it has been played, and if no song is selected, it will randomly play one just like an old jukebox at a pub would do :)

But to be more lifelike it would not be able to play any song unless it was at least 2 years old, skip random songs, and then play a song you haven't selected

(Mind you looking at some of the posts in help section some users appear to have that already implemented  )

I think having an option to play random track(s) at end of a normal playlist would be good idea.
