First I love Subsonic; as does all of my friends and family who get to share my collection. It would be a nice addition if Subsonic could pull in Video details, i.e. description, actors, etc...

I agree. One way I was thinking was to embed a URL redirect in an HTML file and save this file under the same directory as the video I wanted to watch. That way, when I click on the html file the relevant IMDB page would come up in the center screen of the Subsonic page. In other words, it will behave like the links to the sites associated with the "Internet TV/Radio" feature you have on the left margin of the screen. I tried this by adding "html" to the list of recognized music and video file types. However when I click on any of these html files, Subsonic understandably added it to my playlist and tried to process the html file using the defined transcoding pattern.

+1 for this idea The easiest way I can see to implement this is to enable the search links for video files. eg search IMDB, Google and Wikipedia. This will probably need a text box to search on (pre-filled with filename?) I don't know enough about video - do they have tags
