Hi,

duplication problem detail: http://s7.postimage.org/7jwe51qbf/duplication.png

filter in action: http://s8.postimage.org/wk485j4ud/in_action.png

I have all my music files on two disks, named 'one' and 'two', but as you can see on the screenshot I have a lot of music so I start to create 'filters' by gender (filters start with **). These 'filters' are nothing more than folders containing symbolic links to the original files folders, that way I can limit the authors list and navigate to my music in an easier way, also it is useful to sort the more gender ambiguous artists since this approach allows to have the same artist into multiple gender filters.

The only problem I have is that the music appears duplicate or triplicate when I access to an author through the "All folders".

My request is if subsonic can implement a mechanism to detect the duplicate music and ignore it. Maybe the best aproach is ignore the symlinks that points to an existing folder when show "all folders" is selected.

Thanks!

How about making a symlink called "All folders" and having that point to everything? Then, you remove the current all folders option, and replace it with the path to the symlink.

If you want to know how to remove the all folders option, let me know. I removed it from my server because I have it split into Music, Movies, and TV Shows. There is no way for the user to see all of them in one big list.
