Subsonic Forum

I just started using subsonic, and I was wondering if there was a way for other users to listen in on someone's streams. So if user1 was playing a playlist, if user2 had the correct permissions, they could listen to the same music user1 was playing. User1 would essentially be managing an internet radio station. Is that an obvious feature that I'm missing or does it not exist?

great question! I've always wanted to be able to do that as well.

So I guess this isn't a feature. Should I repost this in feature requests or could a mod move it for me?

I actually posted something like this as a request a while back.....friends and I sometimes have partys at the same time and have often wished we could log into a specific user account and operate it like a jukebox where we are both hearing the same song at the same time....and we each could add songs to the playlist at our own houses. May sound cheesy but when you start drinking, then start reminiscing about the good old days it would be cool to share the stream as you say.

would there be a way to maybe set it to auto add what another user is playing maybe? the users logged in show what they are listening to, so maybe SS could read that info and add it to my playlist If I choose.

wow looked for an hour to see if this was allready brought up ...posted a request for this same feature... then find this five mins later...Doh!!!

yes i agree letting another person do the driving and just listen along would be great

we could actully have different "guest D.J.'s" playing music for those who have a hard time choosing.

just wanted to give props for thinking along the same lines i do...lol

I would dearly like to see this kind of abillity in Subsonic as well.
Here is a post with my thoughts on a way to do it, there may be simpler or better ways,
but the goal is much the same; to have multiple users sharing the listening experience, or the same person moving from device to device and able to pickup where they left off.
