4.7 coming anytime soon?

Postby jayw654 » Wed Mar 07, 2012 12:05 am

Hoping to see better video support and better native file format support such as h.264 in an mp4 package. I mean the imbedded web player does support h.264 with mp4 but it seems that Subsonic needs to fix how it is supported in subsonic (without using realtime transcoding), also could use native support fo FLAC (without using a realtime transcoder). Anyhow, its been awhile since a new version has been released and hope to see a new version soon!

I'm hoping that such a v4.7 will hit all donating individuals download boxes in the next couple of months. Aside from codec issues, the fact that Adobe Flash is nearing its end-of-life with every comment Adobe makes suggests we need the player to use HTML5 as suggested by many.

You make two assumptions: 1) that I want it for my PC and 2) that I want it only for music. I've watched your work, but right now as you have said it is a music-only plugin.

I want HTML5 for tablet use. Lastly, I only use Subsonic for video streaming and don't have any of my audio synced into it since I'm an avid Google Music fanboy.

But if Chrome for Android begins to allow extensions and your project opens up to video, I'll be on it like stink on cow sh**. :D

Okay. 4.7 is here. JWPlayer has been updated to 5.10 and my server still defaults to flash. How to I tinker with JWPlayer (or Subsonic) to make it default to html5 and fall back on flash? Because as of right now, it doesn't even fall back on html5 (as my android phone was very happy to show me).

Yeah, my Android devices were kind enough to show that Subsonic is now useless since I own Nexus devices which have the latest and greatest updates directly from ElGoog.
