Reordering the Left Navigation Pane

Be nice to have a dropdown that you could select say a genre and then the whole left pane navigation is then changed to reflect only that genre because as I add more and more music the left pane is getting really difficult to navigate. also add a dropdown signifying say added last 3 days or added last 7 days or added last 30 days, that would breakout to all the newest additions only and easier to navigate.

Since video is becoming a rage you could easily port a video option into all this and stream video out of subsonic just like audio. Lots of possibilities lie ahead.

Yep, this would be a great feature. Or maybe add a text box with AJAX that will bring up the artist as you type it in...

Ahh, the possiblities...

Subsonic is able to stream video as it is. In fact that what I use it for primarily. Just add the file types you want to stream and encourage your users to use VLC.

and if your music folders are configured properly you could have the drop down box functionality...at least based on one category..you'd pretty much only get one option. I personally use alphabetical dissections..

If you add multiple music folders to subsonic, it provides a drop down box on the left to each of these folders individually. So if you organized your music by genre in your music folders and added each genre folder to the library individually, you'd get a drop down box option for each genre...

I created individual folder sources for each genre and moved over a thousand artists around using linux command line oh what fun. Now the only request I would like to see is to add a feature into the settings where you can reorder the folder list at any time. Now you have to completely redo every entry on the list for instance to alphabative after you add a new folder. Sindre can you add this sometime and I'd call this topic closed and delivered then.
