offline subsonic library access

Hi again,

I've got another request.
I'd like to use subsonic client (android phone) without any internet access, just like a simple media player.

With no internet connection, subsonic client can't load the folders tree, waiting for synchronization with the server. Then in offline mode, I have to switch to another player.

My recommendations is to cache the previous loaded tree when subsonic client is not able to synchronize with the server.

Thanks to you.

When a data connection is not available, go to the home screen in the android app and in the "Select Server" box, choose "Offline."

Then the "Media Library" button will show you a limited media library of only content that is in your phone's subsonic cache and available offline.

Hope this helps,

Glenn

I came to this forum specifically to ask this question, and found an answer (: Thanks!

I do, however, think it would be nice if Subsonic could cache playlists, too. To be honest, 85% of the time I use Subsonic to listen to the same six playlists, all of which I have cached. If offline mode cached playlists, too, I'd be able to use Subsonic in offline almost always. Yeah, that'd only save a couple of seconds, but hey (:

Either way I'm glad to know an offline mode does exist since I'm going to be on a long flight soon.
