Increase buffer length for video streams

I don't know if I am missing something, when watching video on my Subsonic installation, the Jwplayer does not buffer anything, at least not to help poor bandwith.
I cannot pause the video and let it buffer for a while and later hit play and watch the video in its entirety.

Perhaps it could be configured to buffer the entire video when loaded/played? Or maybe even a configurable option somewhere?

Also, I cannot skip into the video file. This ends up in a situation where I am not able to watch the video at all (because of a too poor bandwith) or not being able to continue watching where I left off earlier.

As a result I often end up having to download the video file and watch in VLC instead of streaming it from my server...

I have been trying to fix it myself, and came to these two forum threads:
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/fo ... -buffering
http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/fo ... ring-sucks

I am trying to modify jetty/2585/webapp/script/WEB-INF/jsp/videoPlayer.jsp to see if I can fix myself. The variables mentioned in the two posts above
do seem to be present in videoPlayer.jsp ie. bufferlength under "flashvars"
