I understand the change to making better use of ID3 tags in 4.7, but I don't want to have to do an exhaustive scan just to be able to listen to a new album I just downloaded.

I'm happy for the new full scan which will run nightly to remain, but I'd also like it to recognise when there are new things in a folder the moment I look in the folder - a search might not find them, but it'd be great if I could still navigate directly to something I know I've added. It could even then recognise that the files I've navigated to are new and queue them for a quick scan instead of requiring a full scan of everything to pick them up.

Or perhaps a "SCAN" button on the app. Perhaps it could be folder spersific scan, so It wouldnt take to long.
I record a radio program and sometimes cant wait for the 24 hr scan to take place.

Thanks for the awesome work, one of the best programs I have ever used. Going to get my playbook fixed now as I have a use for it!

+100! I was about to start a thread asking for this exact same feature. This behavior could also be configurable as is the case in kPlaylist.
