Update:
I have checked to see if this behavior is also in the preceding version (4.2, build 1944) and it would seem that both jw-player and the adding of users are each working ok.

Hopefully I have found something constructive and am not just wasting everyone's time.

Edit:

It would seem that there is some problems in my case migrating from 4.2 to 4.3 using tomcat6.

By manually deleting all tomcat6 cache items relating to subsonic I have the correct jw-player displayed and users can be added and removed without any problems. Interestingly I have only just found the email field in the user management page.

I have been musing that tomcat6 may have been holding some data in a cache and in the absence of a change of container name (between subsonic version upgrades) it just kept using the same data????

Please ignore my ramblings, It would seem that subsonic has not failed me yet! Great project!

gotosleep wrote:@burjast, I do have ffmpeg and it is located exactly where Subsonic is looking for it according to the log. Proof:

Code: Select all
mac-mini:transcode gotosleep$ pwd
/Library/Application Support/Subsonic/transcode
mac-mini:transcode gotosleep$ ls -l
total 21272

Also, in the log I posted previously, you can see the output from Subsonic running ffmpeg, so obviously that isn't the issue. Do I need a symlink somewhere else? Sindre, any ideas?

I sometimes see the same thing with videos. I've always assumed it's due to a buffer underrun. I can usually just press play again and it will work. Adding a 30 second buffer to the player seems to have solved it for me.

To add a 30 second buffer you can modify the videoPlayer.jsp and add bufferlength:"30" to the flashvars.

-mg

Adding 30 to the buffer length definitely helps me out, but the video stops for about 5 or 10 seconds every 30-45 seconds now. I think my problem is related to cache size now.
