The playback pausing bug still exists on my system:

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14739

I love subsonic but it has become unusable for some content and a real pain for other content.

If I have this directory structure,
A1/X1/files
A1/X2/files
A1/files
A2/X1/files
A3/X1/files
A3/files
A4/X1/files
A4/X2/files

Subsonic orders it like this,
A2
A4
A1
A3

Well, this behaviour is at least intentional. Subsonic differentiates between "albums" and "directories" (an album is a directory with at least one song in it), and the sorting algorithm puts directories before albums. In your example, A1 and A3 are classified as albums and hence come last.

Of course, if most people think this is an undesired behavior I'll be glad to change it.

Any opinions?

Thanks
Sindre

Within the say, A1 directory, I'd agree that I want folders first, then files.

When the sorting all of the directories in the root directory, I don't understand why subsonic is "looking into" each of those directories prior to sorting them.

This seems odd...

Certain artists may have one off songs that I didn't want to put in a folder, or other files associated with the artist that aren't songs or aren't album specific.

Subsonic didn't always sort the folders like this. I feel like this started when you added the metadata sorting.

Sorry, I misunderstood and thought this was below the root level. But if I try your example on the root (artist) level, I get the correct order (A1, A2, A3, A4).

If possible, could you create an account for me on your server so I can take a look?

Thanks

For me Videoplayback via the Flashplayer is still broken in this release.

I have a setup with a Reverse HTTP Proxy in front of the Subsonic server, that is only accessible via HTTPS.
I use HTTP Strict Transport Security which prevents HTTP to HTTPS redirects. But since the first 5.0 release the URLs in the Flashplayer always point to "http://" URLs.

I took a look at the code, but I am not sure how to elegantly fix the Problem.
The problems seems to come down to the lines 659 and following in videoPlayer_jsp.java:
Code: Select all
out.write("            var url = \"");
out.write((java.lang.String) org.apache.jasper.runtime.PageContextImpl.proprietaryEvaluate("${model.streamUrl}", java.lang.String.class,(PageContext)_jspx_page_context, null, false));
out.write("\" + \"&maxBitRate=\" + this.getBitRate() + \"&timeOffset=\" + offset;\r\n");

The Value returned by that function on ${model.streamUrl} returns the wrong URL. However, I could not find the place in the code to fix this.

Would it be possible to replace the "http://" or "https://" URLs with the protocol relative URL start "//", this should fix the problem for modern browsers.

I also have a video playback issue. This is the error i receive when trying to playback video.

I run Subsonic behind a reverse proxy as well, and I only port 443, HTTPS for my site.

About the video playback problem for people with a proxy server, I wrote a small "how to" to get over the problem:

Is there anyway in 5.0 to set the default bitrate? 2mbps is brutal for slow uplinks, I've looked through the forums at the old posts however it would be fantastic if it was an option in settings.
