I think all of the major issues with converting the Chrome version from a hosted app to a packaged app have been resolved. As such, 0.9.9.6 has been submitted to the Chrome app store. It is also still on its usual web location, http://p.subfireplayer.net/. This will include the md5 encoding support for 5.3 beta and Madsonic 6, but safely degrade to the enc: version for older servers.
There are really odd technical issues on Amazon's part that they are aware of and are hoping to resolve soon (not that they're telling me what they are, mind you). As such, the submission for 0.9.9.5 is 'stuck'. Until it is resolved, I can't deploy the 0.9.9.6 version, though as it stands it is working fine for me in the web tester for both my Fire HD 7 and my Fire Sticks.
This is the final release candidate. If there are no significant issues, it will be rebranded as 1.0 and I will be starting work on the 2.0, which will include a modified layout, play queue appending, and remote control services including jukebox and Chromecast.
