Not sure what conditions cause this. If the artist tags for all songs for a given artist are exactly the same, the artist is not displayed in the main window frame even though it is configured to be in Personal Settings for Browse & Playlist. If I edit tags and change one artist tag to be something different than the others and save, then artist tags will display for all songs. Click link for visual.

Looking at the code, this is intentional. The Artist tag only gets displayed when there are multiple artists. Makes sense.

Discogs search

Postby linuxman » Tue Oct 13, 2009 8:04 pm

Sindre thanks for making this functional again but the only issue is that when I do the discogs search all my results are a white box with a red x and won't display the actual artwork. But if I select one and then go back it actually loads and displays the image but is a crapshoot if it's the right one or not. This has been an issue the whole time with discogs and was why I always defaulted to using the amazon search which never had the issue. Any thoughts? 8)

Two problems with Discogs cover search

Postby mgrant » Fri Oct 16, 2009 5:24 pm

I get this on one of my installs (machine1):

Code: Select all
[2009-10-16 11:12:36,238] WARN CoverArtService - Failed to search for images at Discogs.
java.io.IOException: Method failed: HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request

and this on my other install (machine2):

Code: Select all
[2009-10-16 17:16:00,472] WARN CoverArtService - Failed to search for images at Discogs.
java.io.IOException: Not in GZIP format

Both installs are 3.8.beta1 standalone on kubuntu linux.

Sometime the search will work on machine 2 but it has never worked on machine 1 since installing 3.8.beta1.

Search for "Gov't Mule" "By A Thread" to duplicate this.

Great work on the newest version, it works perfectly on my end.

Just a real quick question about the Android app, I haven't got an Android phone myself but might soon. Can it be used with Subsonic in jukebox mode, so that it acts as a remote control for the Subsonic server? I briefly tried the streaming functionality on my colleague's HTC Hero and it's awesome!

bump...

anyone? I just re-installed my OS (kubuntu 9.10) and with it a clean install of standalone subsonic 3.8. I'm still getting this failure.
