I will try this out for you....

I'd like to see a client that can take advantage of the local device equalizer though. If the subsonic webplayer could do this I would just use it, however an app that could do this in the meantime would be awesome. I'm not sure if the webplayer ever will have equalization or not.

This is a great android client and I absolutely love it. Only thing that is missing is automatic play or pause when bluetooth connects or disconnects. This is not working for me with my car's bluetooth.

Thanks,
Osho

I will assume you meant to replay to the Android topic and not my old Windows client... I will see what I van do about the Bluetooth connectivity. I also need to stop playback when a phone call comes in, could be related.

Yes of course. I meant to reply to the android thread. Thanks for considering.

Hi there, the program seems really interesting, but I'm unable to connect AT ALL. My connection uses an SSL encryption, which is obviously invalid.
Here's the error message I get even if I've accepted the certificate in the trusted root:

Thanks!

Interesting. I will be honest, I haven't looked at this project in a long time. I am not even sure it works with the latest version of Subsonic.

Hi, so I might take a little look by myself then! :P I'll come back later if I've changed something ahah!

EDIT: Took me like 5 minutes to find it and fix it. Here's the line of code you need to add:
Image

Found in the file SubsonicRestWeb.cs. I have noted videos aren't supported, but I don't really care. The thing is, your program won't support multiple folder architecture. What I mean is, if we have a folder into a folder, UltraSonic can't handle it. Hey don't give up this beautiful project, you are doing a great job! It's probably (and by far) one of the most cleanest source code I ever saw. Even in enterprise, a lot of people are programming like shit (speaking of personal experience here). I might give you some help if you want! Just PM me if you feel to! I might not have a lot of time, but when I do, I can help a lot!

If it supported video I'd be interested.. I mostly use subsonic for that purpose.

I have started to completely refactor this project and the underlying library. I will try to add video support and it should be more stable. I cannot give any promises about dates, however.

For anyone who is interested, I removed the library from the UltraSonic source tree and moved it to a new repo named SubsonicSharp. I have started to refactor the code using the new library. Stability should be the same right now as I have only just begun. Feel free to submit a pull request if you want.

If anyone is watching this project, I decided to pick it up again. I have some features and bugs that I plan on tackling in the next few releases. I have added them to an issues list on GitHub. Feel free to add your own feature requests or bug reports if you do not see it in the list.

I am definitely interested in this. I have been looking for just a flat client that works well and doesn't look like crap in the process and this seems to be the first one that does it.

The posted binaries have some issues that I've been working through. Mainly it will not connect to a Madsonic server. There are also issues with the playlist and handling of it. It can be finicky. I've resolved the Madsonic issue and I'm planning on working on the playlist issues next. Once it is more stable I will need to find an alternate location to provide compiled binaries because GitHub is no longer providing that functionality.

Are there any features you'd be looking for specifically? I basically added all of the features I required out of a client and stopped developing it, even with the bugs. I've been debating taking up developing with Xamarin.Android so I can use the cool features available in C# and not be forced to use Java for Android development. I've started to make the library more portable so I can use it for Windows and Android.

Would you be interested in working together on this or are you just interested as an end user?

I would just be interested as a end user right now. I just started a part time job for some extra cash so just doing some routine work on DSub is all of the free time I have lol. Xamarin looks pretty cool though, I haven't looked much into that. I wonder how well it works from a practical point of view. I know a lot of those cross platform tools have gotchas that make them basically unusable.

I will have to look more at it tonight and give you some feedback.

Annoyances:

Have to double click on playlist to get it to show
Don't like defaulting to letter based groupings on Music tab
Seems to get started really slow. Probably related to the not streaming with ssl problem.
Dragging songs around doesn't put it where you dragged (at least while sorted)

Nice to haves:

Lyrics
Multiple column sorting with it keeping your preferences. IE: Really want to sort by disc, then by track. Either or isn't really correct.
Completely separate now playing list from playlist tab.
