Just to let you know that Subsonic 4.8 has been released:

New: Introduced Subsonic Premium. (Note: Existing licenses will remain valid)
New: Re-import playlists if file timestamp has changed.
New: Make playlist folder setting visible again.
New: Changed bitrate to video resolution mapping.

Tech: Install Java 7 rather than Java 6.

Furthermore, a new version of the Subsonic Android app has been released. It's no longer ad-supported.

Any changes on the Layout for Translation? I can not find new functions

I just got my hands on 4.8 and the included minisub needs to be updated because it's still from May '12. I guess we can get the files from github and replace them but I'd love to see an up-to-date version in 4.8 so that we don't have to update it manually. :-)

I genuinely do appreciate the effort that goes in to producing a piece of software of this quality, but I feel that the new Premium licensing scheme for Subsonic is a kick in the teeth -- all of a sudden a self-hosted application is a pay-monthly affair? I'm just glad I bought the application before this change was made.

I don't see our that way. Sidre is making a living off of his work. And it would seem that he wasn't making enough. Considering how much time and effort goes into the product....

I just wish tomcat 7 was supported, and the video folder order issue was fixed.

I'm still baffled as to why permissions aren't able to be set on a per folder basis.. I know that's been requested for a couple of years now.. seems the biggest update is that now it costs more to use the software.. awesome new feature

0.o who said that? If it get's too much work work on it less, it's open source anyone can work on it? I'm trying to make a few tweaks of my own once i'm happy with the result i'll release it free of charge ofc one time payment is fine i did pay but a monthly subscription is going overboard?
