Thank you Sindre and congratulation on the great application and the new webpages. Now I listen to music as I always wanted to. Well done.

Congrats! The amount of work you put into the 3.5 release really shows! Any plans for what you want to do with 3.6?

*EDIT*

I found the link to the TODO list, really exciting stuff in there! :D

I really like the new logo, thanks for all your work Sindre. I am a student and realize how hard it is to put time in on projects when you have the demands of your real life. Thanks again.

Thank You - Where's the Source ?

Postby quix » Fri Nov 14, 2008 7:58 pm

Congratulations on the release of 3.5! The changelog looks great, and I cannot wait to upgrade.

I could not find the source code for 3.5 on sourceforge. Did the source code release change with the licensing?

Please advise.

No, it's still 100% open source. But instead of having a separate source download, you must get it directly from Subversion.

http://sourceforge.net/svn/?group_id=126265

To download the source for 3.5, install a Subversion client and do the following:
Code: Select all
svn co https://subsonic.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/subsonic/tags/release-3.5 subsonic

Hope this helps.

Great work Sindre.

Did you update faad.exe in the transcode_windows.zip too?

Thanks for adding the support for model.user.streamRole in top.jsp for me (ya no more settings).

Yes. That should be version 2.6 (Build Apr 29 2008) now.

Install for Newbies

Postby PieterB » Fri Nov 21, 2008 4:21 pm

Should I install 3.5 OVER 3.4? Do I keep my settings?

Thanks for answering.

Yeah, the easiest is to install it over the old version. The settings will be kept in either case.

Thanks for your answer, Sindre.

As I said before, wouldn't it be a good thing to have install instructions? A comprehensive forum Q&A on install issues would (IMHO) avoid some unnecessary Q&A.

Hi PieterB,

Hm, yeah possibly. But for now I've updated the "official" installation instructions with your input: http://subsonic.sourceforge.net/installation.php

Thanks,
Sindre
