I love the list of stuff! Can you explain what these items mean?

New: Show thumbnails for "siebling" albums.
New: Generate automatic album art.

Good question, please also for:

Why does Subsonic have to know it´s IP address, and how is that affected when run behind a proxy?
Thanks & Best regards, Joachim

New: DLNA now browses by folder, not tags -> HARDCORE...

Is it possible there is something messed up in de special character support? In the previous (not beta) versions i could play songs with "é" characters in it, now he displays them as a folder. In general, special characters could be better supported.

Thanks for the update. New touch to the UI is looking good.

DLNA function not working with xbmc over here. Is there a change that it works in the final 4.9? Would be very nice... Can browse the folders and see the files. Can not play anything and do not see album art. Also the dlna server seems to be crashing a lot. Restarting the dlna makes the share browsable again.

Cheers for the update!

Question: Is the automatic album art generated on the fly every time it is displayed? I see Java resources spiking tremendously every time a page with album art is loaded

The first item means that thumbnails for other albums by the same artist is displayed at the bottom of the page when you look at an album.

The second item means that a simple image displaying the album title and artist is generated if there is no album art for an album.

It needs the local IP address for the DLNA service (telling DLNA clients where music can be streamed from), and for the UPnP port forwarding service.

Very nice update...one item is the Genre droplist doesn't contain any genres therefore making no albums show up....group by decade works fine but By Genre is empty...at least for me.

I prefer to wait until 4.9 is out of beta before I upgrade, but I'm very excited about the changes (thanks Sindre!) and I'm curious about the new look. Would someone mind posting posting screen shots? Thank you!

A library rescan made the DLNA functionality show the album art in XBMC. Don't crashes anymore, however I'm still not able to play a song. Can see the song duration, title, number etc.. If i click on it, nothing happens or I get an error; could not play item.

VLC on OS X seems to deal with the same problem btw...

While reading about Upnp i had an idea, but I dont know if its possible? Upnp-clients get all of the meta-data from their server. When the server is capable of scraping artist info, album info and covers / fanart, it could pass that to media-center software (via upnp) or mobile apps / web-ui.

Keep up the good work, love subsonic.

How come screenshots never get posted from update to update so WE THE USERS WHO PAID AND SUPPORT THIS PROJECT can decide if to upgrade or not? I'm waiting for the final anyways but please... Stop missing the basics Sindre.
