Next time it would be better to post about it here, since this is a paid app. One might decide to hold off from buying it until the issues are resolved (I would've).

Some quick feedback: the UI is really nice, the only thing I find weird is the sliding panel that remains on the left edge in the now playing view. It makes it look sort of squeezed in. I'd rather have a button to recall the browse view like most other music apps.

Well, if he can't connect from a browser either, that isn't a app issue...

I can connect with a browser as well as with iSub, so this is an app issue.

@DarthNerdus: No need for a refund, I'm confident this will get fixed soon.

Since it seems to be a topic, I'll give some insight into the issue. It's definitely an app issue, but there's more at play here.

The reason that I myself wasn't connecting is the assumptions I brought to the table.
1. I have an address to connect to.
2. I have a port to connect to.

Therefore, when testing in the browser, Audiophone, or iSub http://darthy.subsonic.org:4040 failed to connect. When checking the IP address of darthy.subsonic.org, it didn't point to my network. Because of this, I pushed the issue off because the above assumptions clouded my perception of the issue.

Tonight, the mention that it works in iSub sprung an idea in my head. iSub's interface accepts a straight URL without the port field. Because of this you can append the port or just put in a URL. On a whim, I put in darthy.subsonic.org without a port and it worked. The ***.subsonic.org addresses proxy all calls to the appropriate address and port.

Now here's where the bugs in Audiophone are.
1. The UI needs to be streamlined to present these advanced options (like port and SSL) as needed, but not required input. This would make it more intuitive than typing in darthy.subsonic.org and then setting port 80, which you wouldn't think to do when you know that isn't the port Subsonic runs on.
2. When you do connect through port 80, authentication is accepted but the following network calls will fail. This is a bug on my part wherein I didn't expect a proxy that masqueraded in between. Because the connection information returned does not match the connection I make (I connect to XXX:80 and get back YYY:8080, for example), I reject the call. This is my mistake and will be addressed.

So! In short! In the next version the ability to connect to XYZ.subsonic.org will be restored. In future versions (maybe not that one) I will probably "detect" the edge case that I personally imposed on the problem by ignoring the port input for XYZ.subsonic.org and connecting to port 80 anyways, this will solve the too-smart-for-their-own-group issue. In a future future version I plan to improve the settings workflow entirely.

Well, I shelled out the $5 because I'd like to use an iOS app that's being actively developed, but I'm having a lot of issues. The songs seem to be stuck on repeat, I can't get through an album unless I click on each track.

Does this app do the Remote Control functionality for the premium users? I used to have the subsonic app when I had Android and I could Jukebox the server from the phone. Does this app offer that?

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here. Do I use port 80 when setting up Audiophone or do I use port 4040? If I use port 4040 I get "authentication failed". If I use port 80 I can authenticate but my lists of artists and genres never populate. Am I missing something? Thanks!

Same here.

I just tested this with my subsonic address and set the port to port 80 and it loaded fine. I have a library of about 560 artists and it loaded in almost instantly. After you it authenticates, you could try quitting out of the app and going back it. It may be getting stuck for some reason.

I have the exact same issue. Couldn't connect unless I use port 80, and then it times out as it loads songs. I have tried substream and it works.

Very nice UI, much better than any other I have used in the past. I know it's still version 1.0 but many important features are missing such as:

- Playing Playlist (created on server)
- Creating Playlists
- Accessing cached music
- Searching (not just the artist name)
- Recently Played, Frequently Played, Newest Albums

Overall love the UI but without those features this app is somewhat pointless (especially the inability to put the url as the .subsonic domain). Looking forward to future updates!

Feel pretty cheated, this is stated as working on iPad but it's just the iPhone version so it doesn't take up the whole screen and looks retarded with 2x magnification..

+1 for cached music, for me (and my userbase) this is critical.

Otherwise I must say the UI looks pretty awesome, good effort. I'm another dedicated iSub user, was saddened to hear of its demise ...or, at least its ceased development! Keep up the good work.

Shortly after typing up that post I had a "EUREKA" moment and figured out why the application doesn't connect through the Subsonic URLs. I won't go into the technicalities of it, but this should be fixed in the next version. I'll also note your thoughts on the side-view player, though I'm not sure if that will be changed in the future.
