Thanks for all the feedback on the first beta release!

I've now fixed all or most of the known bugs; most notably the Flash player now works on Linux.

Complete change log: http://subsonic.sourceforge.net/changelog.php
Download: http://subsonic.sourceforge.net/download.php

Thanks and bye,
Sindre

Great work! I've installed and its working great on my mythbuntu box. :D

I've looked around for a long time for music server. Subsonic is the only one that works the way I want it to.

Thank you for all your hard work.

one bug
After the play list is finished adding a new song to the play list does not start the web player. This is a real problem when in party mode because the lack of play button on the songs.

Playback stops when saving settings

Hello Sindre

I upgraded to 3.6.beta2 today and it looks great as always!
Noticed however that the playback in the embedded flash-player stops whenever a user saves settings in either the Personal or Players-menu.
Saving in the other menus like General and Advanced does not affect the playback.

Could not see anything in the regular log so I tried activating debug-logging. Too much information for me to make any sense out of, but you might maybe see something there?

My debug-log is here: http://omar.phun-ky.net/subsonic_stuff/subsonic_debug.log

PS: One time I tried this the playlist cleared as well and I had to add songs again.
Oh, and I haven't been able to check the change log whether this might be a known issue as I cannot access it. Sourceforge gives a 404 error message whenever I click on the link you posted earlier.

Edit: Just realized that I am not able to use External player. Whatever I set the setting to it will always play in the flash player. Tried restarting tomcat, but it does not affect this.

Edit2: Tested in Internet Explorer 7 and then the external player works. Saving settings does not affect playback using external player, but it still halts when saving during playback on the flash player, also in IE7 that is.

The issue with the external player is then located to while I'm using Firefox 3.0.5 as browser.

Great work, your download/changelog links should end with .php and not .html though :)

Yes, this is more a feature than a bug. The playlist frame has to be reloaded to reflect settings changes.

To start playing again, just press the play button in the Flash player, or click on the song title in the playlist. This should work also in party mode, right?

Hi Sindre.

Thanks for the great work. The beta works very good for me. I have one little issue: The tray icon is missing on Kubntu 8.04. It worked on 3.5.

Thanks!

Sorry, the tray icon isn't supported on Linux, as it uses Windows-specific features. (Actually, it didn't really work in 3.5 either, since settings changes didn't have any effect).

Still having flash player problems

Sindre,

Thanks for working on this next beta so quickly. I am still having the same problem that I had with beta 1. My current flash player version is 10.0.12.36

There is not player present in the bottom of the subsonic window and I am unable to add tracks to the playlist.

I am using Firefox 3 on a Vista 32-bit install. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had minor success getting this version to work under Internet Explorer. I am able to add the tracks, but when I select one to play it may or may not play. I haven't been able to determine what makes some tracks play and not others.

Why was the "Play more random songs when end of playlist is reached" option removed if the Flash player is selected?

I have the same problem using firefox 2 on kubuntu 8.04.

bug? "playing display" with random tracks

Not sure if this is a 3.6 bug (could be older).

choose 10 random tracks

click 'playing' ; it shows the album of the first track on the main window and correct 'now playing' on the right

when 1st track is finished it plays 2nd track, 'now playing' on the right is ok but main window doesn't update, when you click 'playing' again it keeps showing the album of the 1st track of the playlist, not the currently playing track.

Could have been there forever, but this is the 1st time I noticed it.
