iSub iPhone Client - Version 1.0 Released
Posted: Thu Mar 25, 2010 3:08 am
In the Z-Subsonic thread, Sindre had mentioned that another iPhone client was also in the works. My client - iSub - was just approved a few hours ago
It is available right now from the App Store for $3.99. Here is the iTunes link to buy it: itms://itunes.apple.com/us/app/isub-mus ... 20532?mt=8
iSub currently has the following features
- Settings inside the app
- iPod app style browsing
- Artist search
- Browsing multilevel directories
- Caching of all browsed directories for speedy browsing
- Album art while browsing
- Full size album art in player view
- Resuming music when interrupted by a call or text or when closing the app using the home button while a song is playing
- Each music folder is a playlist automatically so when you select a track from an album it will continue to play the rest of the tracks in that album
- Shuffle, Repeat 1, and Repeat All when playing an album
- Detailed track information by tapping the cover art
- Skipping through tracks
Features coming soon:
- Full support of playlists stored in Subsonic
- Custom local playlists (similar to Z-Subsonic)
- View tracks that other users are playing
- All albums and all songs lists (similar to iPod app)
- Album and song searching
- even more...
Although this is only verson 1.0, I find it to be very stable in my own personal use so far. Please email any bugs, crashes, or questions to support ~at~ einsteinx2 ~dot~ com. I'll also be lurking around the forum a bit, but the best way to reach me will be via email as it is sent directly to my phone.
All future updates will always be FREE for existing users. I plan to bugfix and update regularly as I will be using iSub just as often as I hope many of you will. The features listed in the "Features coming soon" section above should all be implemented within the next month. I just wanted to get a basic player framework together to build off of in the future and to be able to use as soon as possible. When I started coding this, Z-Subsonic was not released yet so it really started as a personal project for me that turned into a full featured, App Store ready app. I hope you all enjoy it!
