Windows Phone 7 Client - Need REST 1.2

Postby funkymule » Sun Apr 18, 2010 6:30 pm

So I just discovered Subsonic, and I love it. Then I discovered the API, and I love it even more (except that it took me a while to figure out that the xmlns declaration is misspelled as xlmns  in the subsonic-response). I created a Silverlight client, that essentially mimics the behavior of the built-in web page. I created the Silverlight client to prepare my library for the Windows Phone 7, so I could write a client for it (I'll be dropping my iPhone for Windows phone ASAP). When attempting to run my client, I get the error about the version not supported. I have 3.9, and i hate to be that d-bag that asks, but since the documented APIs required 1.2, and 1.2 comes with Subsonic 4.0, I have to be a jerk and ask if we know a timeline for this?

I've tabled my project for now, but would love to resurrect this. the Z-Subsonic app on my iPhone is so awesome that I have to create one for Windows Phone.

If anyone has some suggestions, I'd love to hear them.

Thanks.
FunkyMule.

First of all, sorry about the misspelling and thanks for pointing it out - I'll fix that!

I would love to see a Subsonic app for Windows Phone, and really hope you will consider implementing and distributing it (for free or for money).

I'm actually planning to release a beta version of Subsonic 4.0 this week, so the timing is not so bad :-)

There is a a mailing list for Subsonic app developers, would you like to be included?

Thanks,
Sindre

Sindre, Long time lurker, first time posting here.

Subsonic is a great application, I've been using it for about a year now and have passed it on to a few of my friends to use as well.

I would like to be included in the mailing list also (if you can tell me where to sign up or do so for me).

Lately I've been working with streaming video with the app and will be looking to put out a simple 'how-to' shortly. Good progress so far.. at the moment, my friend and I are just a little ways away from being able to stream audio and video to the iphone (right now the audio from a movie will play, working on the mkv transcoding). I could go on and on, but I'll leave it at that. Thanks again for such a great application!

You (and anyone else interested) can sign up for the mailing list here:

Interesting to hear about your work on video streaming. I have actually been working a bit on it myself, but decided to release 4.0 without it since I have quite a lot of work left.

Cheers!
