Hi,

Subsonic 2.5 was released Nov 25 2005, including the following changes:

New: Implemented user management. Users are easily created, deleted and assigned different privileges.
New: Faster song switching. Players react immediately to playlist changes.
New: Now possible to refine search for cover art and album info.
New: Better support for OGG, AAC and other formats. Added proper suffix to stream URL as a hint to the player.
New: Display media library statistics.
New: New location for preferences, search index and database (c:\subsonic or /var/subsonic).
Bugfix: Improved parsing of MP3 tags. Avoid funny characters in artist, album and song title.

As a matter of fact, all these changes are based on user feedback. Thanks a lot for helping improve Subsonic!

Regards,
Sindre

Minor bug: Song name sometimes missing

Hi,

Please note that there is a bug in Subsonic 2.5 causing the song, artist and album name to be missing in some (rare) cases. This happens if an ID3 tag is present in the MP3 file, but the tag contains no data.

The problem will be fixed in Subsonic 2.6.

Workaround: Use a tag editor and set proper values for album, artist and song. Alternatively you can remove the empty ID3 tag.

Regards,
Sindre

This works great... Now Sobsonic is just as great as all other mediaplayers :D

This was a great fix too! :D Now all my albums show the names of the songs, and not those "funny" characters...

Small bug: If the album-name contains an apostrof ( ' ), then I get an error when I search for cover-art... Don't know why - just want to let you know :D

Ah, thanks for letting me know. I'll look into that.
