I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but how do you share links?

By default, the option is turned off. You need to go to Settings | Users and pull up your user and check the box for:

User is allowed to share files with anyone

Then you will see a check box next to your files including a drop down box. Select your files, then choose the drop down box to share. It will then take you to another page to share to Facebook or Twitter. You also get a url that you can copy and paste as well.

Interestingly enough, in my 4.5b1, I don't have any option in Settings->Users for "User is allowed to share files with anyone." Where are you seeing this? I'm logged in as admin, and then go to Settings->Users, and then select an existing user from the dropdown. Nothing there about sharing files. I do, however, see all the checkboxes for sharing files next to each song/track when i view an album, so the functionality is there -- but the option to turn it on/off is not.

I'm using the .WAR Linux version, for use with tomcat6. I wonder if that aspect just didn't make it into the .WAR version specifically?

HM strange few days on beta and this mourning icons for shareing are missing but in options everything is on. I try to delete cache but nothing is changed. Anyone with gremlins in their subsonic

Just under the songs in the left bottom corner there it a drop down box.

User is allowed to change settings and password
User is allowed to play files
User is allowed to play files in jukebox mode
User is allowed to download files
User is allowed to upload files
User is allowed to share files with anyone
User is allowed to create and delete playlists
User is allowed to change cover art and tags
User is allowed to create and edit comments and ratings
User is allowed to administrate Podcasts

Been waiting for this option but when I go to the URL it ask's me to log in and I have no idea what my log in is...
