Hi, Thanks for trying out Periscope. It looks like you're connecting to the Subsonic server without issue, as the playlists and songs are starting to load...

I'll PM you to see if we can troubleshoot this issue and get it resolved.

Periscope is $1.99 for a lifetime license, which gives you access to unlimited updates for new features.

It is one of many different ways to listen to your music from a Subsonic server. The choice is yours to use the built in web interface or another application. I felt that there was room for growth with the existing alternatives, so I started this project to create what I hope will become a great player for others out there who are looking for the same functionality at a reasonable price.

A lot of hard work and expense is endured by myself and the other developers who are striving to deliver a product for others to enjoy. I'm welcoming suggestions and feedback, but personal insults aren't really necessary.

Here are some features I'm working on for the immediate future:
-Local caching of album cover art
-Browsing songs via album cover art

Thank you everyone who has been trying out Periscope!

OMG 2$ for that sh**?

The ui just sux. The app consumes a lot of CPU resources and It takes long time to load all the songs from the server.
Thanks for make me waste my time testing your app...

It doesn't support gapless playback right now, but I will add this to my to-do list.

Thanks.

Just wanted to share my appreciation for this app and its developer. The developer seems keen on improving the app and was very helpful in not only helping me with an issue, but keeping me up to date on the solution. If you're on windows, definitely give this app a try. Can't wait until this app matures a bit more, it will become incredible!

Someone takes their time to write a program, and is requesting a whopping 2 dollars for compensation from the people that want to use the program. If you don't want to pay 2 dollars, then use one of the free programs. Simple as that.

Agreed, why does there have to be so much anger and negativity?
Don't like something? Don't use it. Some people will like it and be willing to pay for it. There's no need to directly attack someone over it.
Im new to this forum as you can see but nobody wants to see that, in any thread, or any forum for that matter.

Anyways... to the real reason for this post:
Just a couple of little suggestions that would make a big difference for me.

  • The ability to browse the library by artist and then album, rather just one GIGANTIC list of songs?
  • Ability to use the media control keys present on most keyboards <- this please please please! Its the main reason for me to use a dedicated app over the web client. Just this would make it well worth the £2 asking price :)

But otherwise looking good so far 8)

Hey Guys, It's been a while since I've posted over here and Periscope has come a long way since that original version 1.0! I'm keeping a list of all of the good suggestions that have been coming in and will try to implement as many as possible. There have been a number of requests for some additional playlist support, so that's where I'll be focusing my efforts after the next maintenance release (bug fixes/no admin rights required/etc). I really appreciate the recent POSITIVE feedback! Thanks.

And an updated screenshot for those who are curious......
