Compatability with the "Iomega 500GB Home Media HDD&quo

Postby allyjweir » Mon Mar 15, 2010 4:35 pm

Hi all,
I've spotted this rather highly discounted NAS and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if I would be able to run and manage my Subsonic from it.

The advantage of this to me would be I wouldn't have to leave my main computer on over long periods of time

Here are some links to information on it

Thanks for any help which can be given, also any advice on how to set it up would be appreciated

Please let us know what your solution is.

I also have the 1TB Iomega Home Media Network Hard Drive.

I was going to follow the directions of setting up a user on the NAS and then a matching account on Windows, then run Subsonic as a service. Unfortunately, I have the Music folder on the NAS set up as accessible to all users, so I cannot apply a certian user to it.

So far, I've tried this using a UNC path, and as a mapped network drive in Windows without success.

Is anyone else using one of these NAS? Any solutions for getting Subsonic to index files living on a NAS?
