Streaming skipping while browsing the web

Hello, as the title states I am getting skipping, even on a very strong home wifi network connected to both computers. I have an Asus eeepc 1001P with an atom processor and 2GB of ram. I think that if anything it is my computer's hardware because it seems to occur under brief seconds of load. If someone could point me to buffer bit rate settings that would be cool too.
