Bitrate question

Hi all,

I'm running subsonic on an old PowerBook running Mac OS X 10.5.8, and I have a question about bit rate limits. When I make a new user, I set a max bit rate (192 k for instance), but I have noticed that when that user has a player created for them that the max bitrate for the player is 'no limit'.

Does the stream they get respect the 192 setting in the user profile? Or is it truly streamed without limit? If the later - is there a way to have players for a user respect the user limit that is set?

The server enforces the user limit or player limit. Whatever is lower. You should be able to confirm this by looking in your Subsonic logs. The bit rate limit is enforced by the lame transcoder.
