Apologies in advance if I'm insulting your intelligence.

I tried just using the back button (after stopping the music of course) and also the "X" button and yes, I did check that the app is not running. As I described above, I was unable to reproduce the hijaking of the media buttons every time, but it does happen in pretty high number of times.

The other issue however, which makes it impossible to answer the phone is reproducible all the time from the moment you install the app until you uninstall it.

Could you also please share what device and ROM you are using? Thanks!

I've got an EVO 4G. It has always worked perfectly with SS. Stock rom, latest OTA. Froyo 2.2

Pound for pound, the best electronic device I've ever owned.

And I have a laptop.

Wait, what were we talking about :P :D

In all seriousness though, Android is quite annoying when it comes to multiple music players and the headset controls. Especially when there's no player running and you press play, sometimes it'll start a bunch of players at the same time... or one app will hijack the commands (in my case it was XiaaLive Web Radio) for all the others. Seems quite random though...

Look, I know Android has kinks to iron out. But As I described above, I am able to reproduce this problem 100% of the time on two different devices with three different ROMs. And I haven't had a similar issue with another app on the same setup.

Apparently there's only of few of us who are having this issue, so I understand completely that nobody is rushing head over heals to fix it. But it would be great if someone could have a quick look at it and acknowledge that it does exist and when we might see it fixed.

Thanks!

All I can say: My HTC Desire with CyanogenMod 7/7.0.2/Nightlies does not exhibit these symptoms. I've tried to reproduce them, but nothing.

I'm really guessing it's just your configuration, or some other app that's also trying to access the headphone controls but is buggy. Did you try to reproduce with a fresh (fully wiped, without ANY settings or apps restored) install of, say, the latest CyanogenMod nightly build (I'm on #78 right now, so that's a known-good build in regards to this problem), with only Subsonic installed?

If it still doesn't work there, it's either Subsonic itself (although then why does it work properly here?) or maybe even your headset (were you using the same one every time?)...

... I'm running SS on a HTC Desire, stock rom, latest fw, and have full control of the app via a pair of jaybird freedom 3 BT headset and have no issue (so far).

Peace

To be honest, I don't remember if Subsonic was the only installed app, but I definitely have tried uninstalling all other media-related apps. Also it is suspicious, to say the least, that after uninstalling Subsonic all problems disappear...

I used 2 different pairs of the stock HTC headset + ZAGG SmartBudds. I haven't tried the Cyanogenmod Nightlies, but I seriously doubt it's the hardware.

This problem has also been reported in at least one other thread that I was able to find so there must be something going on...
