Disable GUEST user and share only with registered users!

Hi.
I have updated to the 4.5 version, but it dont like me for this new SHARE function that "open the library to the wolrd".

I'm a musician and i use subsonic only to share our music with other member of our band to collaborate through internet on the new tracks and prelisten the new ideas..!

I have seen that when i delete the GUEST user, when i create a new share it is newly created!! how to avoid this!

and...just in case I want to quickly share a file, I want the user have to enter username and password to listen not without password and with an autogenerated guest user!

Interesting find. You are correct that using the share link does create a guest user, however the new guest user has no log on rights to the server. I've always had a guest account with a password that allowed guests to log in, so I deleted the account and tested a link. Sure enough a guest account is created, but I couldn't log off and the log in to Subsonic under that account name. So sending the link does not give anyone access to any other content on Subsonic.

The guest account created by the share link only allows the guest to play files. No other rights are given unless you edit the account in Settings/Users.

By default, share links expire the same day unless you edit and extend the availability timeframe.

In your particular circumstance, you could also give each band member their own account and create a seperate folder for development music and use a shortcut to list that folder at the top of the listings in the left column.
