Jukebox mode, unstable with multiple users?

Postby KoalaBear » Sat Oct 08, 2011 6:18 am

At work we are trying out Subsonic as a Jukebox. Everybody can choose his own music and place it in the Playlist.

Problem:
Sometimes, like around 3-5 times a day (~ 8 hours max) Subsonic gets stuck, will not play the next song.

And when you click the song with the speaker in front, it immediatelly starts playing, so the files are ok.

I think it has something to do with our usage.

We all use an account named "jukebox".

So eveybody have (when refreshing) the same playlist. I think Subsonic gets stuck on the multiple users. That the internal 'stack' / 'list' gets 'corrupted' (not the right word).

Maybe when Subsonic is playing the last file of a playlist, and that file is placed higher in the playlist (or something like that).

This is a blocker for us to use it at work.

Do you have any idea? Or a solution?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, I have the same problem. It seems to help to kill GDM on the server so that the local desktop can't screw with the audio out, but It still gets stuck. Restarting subsonic fixes it. I've run out of ideas to fix it completely, also some songs, some albums, just freak out the jukebox, and you just have to learn not to ever queue up those songs. which sux. I already fixed the 'large image' problem in all my files, but there is still something 'weird' about certein files it hates. it's just very very finicky.
