Man I wish you had enabled this prior to Halloween as I play various scary music from my PC to a portable wireless speaker system I place outdoors and sometimes I want to switch tracks or skip a track. This means I either have to go run to the server or remote desktop to it or some such. Just loaded the updates and tried the new RC, Remote Control, and nearly instantly the song started playing on my server. Fast Forward and track switching is smooth and fast.
This is going to be very useful and fun. I need to expand my wireless speaker system to cover the whole house now. Can't wait to scare the crap out of the wife or cat by remotely playing a song or better some voice recording. Great way to help secure a home as well since you could easily launch some music, sounds, podcast played loud enough to make anyone outside think your home. Get a few light timers or even better Internet remote control power switches for lights, remote controlled sounds and my remotely controlled webcam and the home will truly appear lived in no matter where you are. Wait till I see the cat asleep on the steps remotely over my webcam and I turn on a growling dog sound, oh the horror...
